The team developing the doors had extensive experience, having worked for other leading composite door brands. They understood the challenges that can occur with a solid core door, such as movement and warping caused by the timber core. However, Comp Door has addressed these challenges. For example, they implement three key solutions with their timber core:

They use a single species of timber to ensure consistent quality and manage moisture levels in the wood more closely. In contrast, other brands bond multiple timber sources together, meaning moisture content within the timber can be quite varied.
Comp Door launched the door with an ‘Auto fire’ lock system, which automatically secures the door in three strategically placed positions as soon as it closes. This means that homeowners using a standard lever/lever handle no longer need to lift the handle to engage the locks. The locks automatically engage, keeping the door nice and square in the frame. This anchors the door in place, thus preventing any movement.
The market-leading TriSeal frame offers an extra layer of protection against the British weather, unlike many other providers that use only two seals. This ensures superior weatherproofing, better draught exclusion and improved energy efficiency.

The SleekSkin Smooth Door

Comp Door continues to innovate and improve their products by working closely with their approved installers, gathering feedback from real installations and customer preferences.

Last year alone they launched two new colours to support the ‘greige’ (grey and beige interior trend) with the Pebble Grey and Slate grey options. These shades have been a hit with our customers, with Pebble Grey now becoming the second most popular choice, just behind the timeless Agate Grey.
