Every month we want to celebrate a place in Leicester or Leicestershire, sharing points of interest, great pubs or restaurants & some interesting facts.
We will also share some installations from us. We realise we have now worked across all of Leicestershire in some lovely places on some beautiful homes & so want to celebrate the local landscape & what makes this a great place to live.

First up we have chosen where we are based of course…. East Goscote.
East Goscote was the first new village to be created in Leicestershire since Domesday.
It was built on the site of a former British Army supply depot. Although the site was decommissioned in 1959 There were two enormous shell storage bunkers that could not be demolished, and these were earthed over and landscaped. They are known locally as the ‘Mound’, and are now part of the playing fields & one houses a super big slide that our young children love!
The site was subsequently bought for housing development by Jelson Homes & so started the creation of the village we know today.
The village hosts many amenities from a primary school, to a Chemist & shops, including a great cob shop (The White Slice) & chip shop (East Goscote Fish bar). We can not mention the village pub either (The Plough) which we often visit for a team celebration.
Lisa our Marketing Executive lives in the village so we asked her why it’s great to live here…
‘I have lived in the village most of my life. There is a great sense of community, everyone is friendly & says hello.
I have a young son & feel it’s offers a really safe environment to raise a family. Lots of green space & close to nice country walks & parks. The village is generally quiet & peaceful with good amenities but you are in easy reach of other bigger villages & towns too! I can’t see me living anywhere else!!
Interesting Facts:
Throughout the village there are a huge network of large reinforced concrete tunnels new top secret weapons prototypes were put together. There are several entrances to these workshops and tunnels located throughout the village, but each have been carefully landscaped to conceal their identity.
Top places to visit:
Kettell Windows Showroom obviously! 😁
Things to do:
Visit the Jubilee playing fields & meet all the very friendly dog walkers 🐾
